We came here initially for an evening stop for dessert on Saturday and all the dessert options were so tasty and freshly made we had to come back the next day for breakfast and dinner! Not to mention the lovely service and super friendly staff, we felt we were stopping by to see longtime friends. The dinner was incredible!! Service was amazing again, so attentive to your every need, they made us feel right at home with their genuine kindness and you can taste the quality in the food. How does this place only have 3.5 stars!? I was told new management took over 2 months and you can see every review since then are 5 stars. They're obviously doing something right. Ignore those bad reviews. Great music, amazing food, beautiful decor and lovely manager/ hosts..what else do you need ( I didn't take a picture of the huevos rancheros but no lie it's the best one I ever had. Great kick with the jalapeños and lots of chorizo. Bomb breakfast menu)
After coming to Carmel for 5 years we always had our regular dining spots...Until today. when we were urged to try Village Corner Bistro.. and are we glad we did and here's why; * PET FRIENDLY PATIO & FIRE PIT * Rima our hostess joyfully sat us and checked on us throughout our meal. We ordered healthy & simply delicious Butternut squash and even ordered one for our Golden. Rima brought ice cubes to cool it down. How sweet! * Nineo, our server...with his perfectly pressed shirt treated us like royalty, making certain everything was perfect throughout our meal. * Marina the assistant was so kind to us and smiled her way into our hearts. * THE FOOD... way the finest quality of all the restaurants in Carmel. We plan to go back tomorrow for breakfast! Thank you to the owner for valuing your customers with wholesome healthy ingredients!
Amazing. Food was delicious. Service was impeccable. Ambiance was so relaxed. Food: the owner (or manager) let us order from the dinner menu also even though we came in at lunch. Lamb shank, short ribs, steak sandwich and halibut tacos. Everything was delicious. They served us a nice lemon dessert on the house. Service: every single waiter asked how we were doing. The owner checked on us regularly as well. Even the hostess came back to check on us. Everyone was so pleasant and attentive. One of the - I think managers - placed something under my chair so it wouldn't wobble so much, which was nice. We were all so impressed by the quality of service we received. Ambience: we sat outside and it was a relaxed atmosphere, not too loud but also not quiet.
I had the beet, arugula salad with chicken and a glass of rose and they were both delicious! They also served really good complimentary bread. The staff was super nice and the manager chatted with us for a bit as well as the host. Very friendly!! The outdoor covered patio was a great ambiance and we sat next to the fire pit. (Sorry no pictures of food- ate it too fast before I thought of taking a picture LOL)
The best restaurant in the area if not in the whole world! When we walked in, we were welcomed like family or like long-time friends. Rima and her husband are so warm and loving, and incredibly charming and divine. They are like artsy, worldly, hip "young" parents who treated me like their beloved son to whom they give unconditional love. There is lots of great art in the restaurant, nice music and tasteful decor: the ambience is perfect. And the food is exquisite. But the best part is: all the staff seem to genuinely love their jobs and love one another. Everyone is happy and charming and they all joke with one another like family. We had the vegetarian linguine, ravioli and artichoke. Phenomenal! It was like being in the movie "Eat, Pray, Love"!
The most delicious brunch ever!! Huevos Rancheros were unbelievable and the service was top notch. Thank you to Rima who made us feel right at home and part of the village family.
Just had a delightful lunch. The service was great, food delicious. Remi was so attentive and charming along with the other staff. We will likely return there for breakfast before our stay is over. Kelly
My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at this adorable breakfast spot in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and we were thoroughly impressed. I ordered the Original Breakfast, which featured fluffy pancakes, a beautifully scrambled egg, and some delicious chicken sausage. The flavors were excellent, and everything was cooked to perfection. My husband opted for a skillet, which he absolutely loved. For drinks, I enjoyed a chai latte, and my husband had a café au lait. Both were delightful and finished with no complaints. The service was perfect--friendly, attentive, and with multiple check-ins to ensure we were happy. The ambiance is cute and quaint, with both indoor and outdoor seating options, which we appreciated. Plus, their bathroom was very clean, a detail that's important to me. The small details even to end the visit were so cute. Our check came in a book! We would absolutely come back!
Village Corner is located in the beautiful town of Carmel in the Monterey Bay. It is a Mediterranean-style restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. Ambiance: Just like most places in Carmel, their patio is pet-friendly. The restaurant is charming and cozy. Foods Ordered: Belgian Waffles Pecan-crusted French Toast Diablo Skillet Carmel Benedict Fried Chicken Steak - very delicious especially the pork gravy. Salmon, Rice, and broccolini Service: The staff are very accommodating and friendly. They were able to help us with our requests (the rice for my grandmother since that's the only thing she eats for lunch). Price: It is a bit pricey, but I think it's because the town is a tourist destination. If you enjoy having cute and charming breakfasts and brunches, add this to your list for a Carmel or Monterey Bay area visit.
Running in the rain. Feels like awhile ago because thoughts and emotions run down a stream, endlessly in a cycle of highs and lows. Something I've been reflecting on is why some people feel emotions really deeply and others either don't or are really good at not letting it all seep through their pores. I think of Jhene Aiko's song "10,000 Hours" and how she basically explains that once you know what it's like to lose someone forever (to death, for instance), there is no way to call them, "ask how [their] day was" because "nothing in life's guaranteed." She goes onto to explain that she's not being difficult but instead "[sees] things differently." When she continues by saying, "When I say I wanna see you, that means something deeper to me," ah man...it hits deep. We stopped by The Village Corner on a whim because we were hungry, and it started to pour while we were looking for a spot to eat at in Carmel. Despite coming in around 30~40 minutes prior to closing time, we were greeted warmly and received great service from beginning to end. It felt nice not to be rushed (though we had the decency to leave as soon as we finished our meals). We got the following because it was a burger and fries kinda day: -The Village Burger (with a salad) -The Beyond Burger (with fries) Can't say much about the Village Burger because it wasn't my order, but I liked how they had Kalamata Olives in their salad. As for my Beyond Burger, it was as expected (I've had plenty of Beyond Burgers and knew what flavors to expect from the patty). It was a simple burger with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese. I had no complaints because all the basics were solid. I guess nothing really stood out. The fries on the side, however, were amazingly crispy and perfectly seasoned. Wowza, amazing. The seating is pretty cozy, and they have both indoor and patio available.
